I bought one of these record cleaning machines about 4 years ago and have nothing but praise for it.
New records are dirty. They need cleaning. I love my Pro-Ject VC- S Mark 2. Thank you!
Hi there, thanks so much for sharing your thoughts on this machine, very helpful. I've been thinking about purchasing one myself but am still doing some research. Anyway, I'm just curious, do you still have it, still pleased and has there been any issues/problems since you purchased it? Thanks again!
Stew - when are you gonna put the rest up - get with it! People would love to hear Slow Bribe
Do you ever reverse the brush so the hairs directly point towards the turning record?
Great machine. Only problem is - the whole thing smells of goats - thanks to the goats hair brush getting wet. If you can live with being on a goat farm, go for it.
Bruh, you don’t HAVE to use that brush. They make thousands of vinyl brushes
The static that is removed is not really done by the record vac. Static electricity and water can't coexist. As soon as you applied the water to the record, the static electricity was instantly removed. Nice video. These machines do a great job.
One of the key steps that I have found is leaving the solution on after brushing/applying it. This video suggests 30 seconds, but I have gotten better results by letting it absorb for 2 or 3 minutes before vacuuming. I also find that it is best not to play a newly cleaned record till the next day. Please let me know if anyone has any other suggestions.
still happy with the machine?
de-ionised water is what you need , not distilled
Distilled water is certainly. not free of contaminants. Much better than tap but.... I do my cleaning with distilled then a light final rinse with †ype 1 labortory grade water. It is like the best of distilled, reverse osmosis, deionized, etc. I have found it worthwhile when used as the rinse. Not that expensive since you use a tiny amount. About 24USD/gallon. I actually use an ultrasonic for cleaning and one of these just for the rinse. A bit OCD but I do high res rips and you can hear what the rinse improves.
Love that lp12 Linn
I would be more convinced if we had a sound test, I.e take a digital recording before and after
yeah I agree, all the ones I have watched never seem to test, before & after, so we know what's really happening.
Result is like a mastered version
great video mate cheers, only just got mine set up and ready to use. i will get some pure water though as i was willing to use tap water until i watched your video :)
Great machine and it is built very well . The reviewer is right, not only are the records clean, static is eliminated with this machine. My only suggestion is for Pro-Ject to just laminate the top surface of the unit to protect the MDF finish from cleaning fluid overspray. I know you can wipe it up , but I got creative snd just covered the MDF top with some clear plastic roll paper . I just taped the edges and made sure I didn’t cover any vital parts . My unit sits in a small closet right by my music system so the final aesthetics of clear covering the unit was not a concern. Just my two cents.
Awsum video thank you for posting
Every record cleaning machine ive used leaves a residue that blocks up the stylus and is a p.i.t.a to shift. Do you know if this is the same? Cheers Paul
absolutely not, never had that problem, the vacuum on this is excellent
@@simmycutters3757 thank you I have actually got one now. Thank you for your video. Works very well
@@paulwheatley141 the guy that did the video did a great job of demonstrating how good it is, this video made me buy the machine as well :) did you get the MKII version? the original VCS has quite a few issues (easy way to differentiate is the original VCS has like a black ball shape to the top of the plate that you screw on and off to protect the labels of the vinyl, the MKII has a round silver top to it :)
@@simmycutters3757 Has silver top yes. Compact machine and great cleaner. Only gripe is the outlet hole blows fluid back on to the underside of the deck. I've made a modification for this.
Paul, it's a bit late to reply but that's usually garbage cleaning fluid that leaves a residual buildup on the stylus after cleaning a record, not the cleaning machine. I bought a Knosti once and the supplied fluid left a white gunk on the stylus the first time I used it. I do my own homebrew fluid now and never had a problem since.
Thank you for a very helpful video
Just bought one. Is the motor supposed to sound it little rough when spinning the record?
you have the original VCS or the MKII?
It’s not a turntable , mine has a little yingy yingi sound but it’s not as if it sounds like it’s low on oil or anything . 🙄 I actually think it’s rather robust in construction including the “rough” motor. John, if it were completely silent you might leave it on all night accidentally, who knows ? I don’t consider this an issue at all.
I find that using my knosti record cleaner with second hand records is great. I can then really clean them with the project!
I used a Knosti for years. They are perfect for cleaning up 2nd hand vinyl before you play it. I experimented with home made solution and a water bath to finish. The results were excellent.
My cleaning machine Pro Ject VC S MKII is broken after 6 weeks from purchase.
Wow!!! Working, needed just allen key.
@@Popmasterpl14021966 tell us more, please. What happened and how and where exactly did you repaired it. I am sure it will help others, who are reading this. Regards
@@RalliRock You have two disc, on the bottom one you put it vinyl record and cover by top disc. This bottom one has a flange fastened to the machine drive it is fixed with an allen screw. The screw was not screwed and the engine worked but the plate did not spin. The long allen key solved the problem.
@@Popmasterpl14021966 I see, thank you very much! I am about to buy this machine. Would you still recommend it. Are you still satisfied?
@@RalliRock Yes, sure. After this everything working perfect.
Got mine on order can’t wait
Thanks, this was a helpful video to watch, I cracked mine open last weekend and very happy with it. Took a while to get used to controlling my £1 little spray can at the right angle. Someone (a dealer, older, experienced) steered me away from the Okki Nokki and I'd not thought of the platter/static issue so saved some money there too. Cheers. (P.S. I do vinyl videos in the VC if you are interested)
Great video, thanks. I'm sure that you spotted your own deliberate mistake though... a record only has one groove on each side ;-)
Best £370 (with lid ) that I have ever spent on hi fi kit - superb. As the gentleman suggests the machine won't perform miracles - but the improvement from a dirty to clean disc is remarkable...great film - many thanks S
Hi. I have a okie okki nokki. A great machine. Great video.
Wait I don't want to put the fluid from the box on here without mixing it with water?
Doom Guy Yes, it’s just a simple dilution and they give you the mixing bottle. Two reasons: there is less of a chance of a larger bottle leaking during shipment snd it allows you to vary the cleaning strength of the fluid. Hey, one mix will last you 3 months or so.
The person filming is my dad, the person making the STUPID noises at the start is my sister, the person screaming JACK! DID U SEEEE?!?! Is my step mum and the person saying no in his stupid voice is my step bruv(idiot as i call him) AND I AM LITTERALLY THE ONE WHO IS JUST LIKE i dont wanna say nothing bcause dad is filming and i dont wanna be famous, Ya
Hey, i was there that is my dada
Thanks so much for this video stew, helped me make my decision to buy this thing, managed to get it for £344 (bought new) which includes the lid. I've currently got the KAB EV-1 but was frustrated with it, the manual operation gets tedious with the KAB EV1.
I was wondering the brush on the arm can you replace ? surely over time that will wear away or get very dirty ? I am thinking of getting one
Yeah you can replace it
I own one of these and it came with two extra brushes for the vacuum arm. But I haven’t needed them yet, after two years with the machine.
@@rc2257 You can also buy A4 sheets of waterproof felt from Amazon and make your own and save a fortune.
I was there to see it and holy of they had to redo the race later
I was there the day before. That looks big.

Footballing legend???!!! No, Matt Le Tissier is a footballing legend. Mark Dennis is just somebody who used to be a professional footballer.
He was a defender you know nothing, Le Tissier great, but couldnt tackle a digestive biscuit.
I remember you from Seaton, Devon back in 1991 🤖
Grew up watching this fella playing for Birmingham City, great player

best video on the internet.

I "rofl'd" at the last couple of seconds. Nice one.
classy!
It's like watching Garfield dance but with less rhythm and more fat.
I went went to school with this guy, his nickname Psyco was well earned
Just like we remember him on the football pitch. Should definately be training the England Team instead of that 'silly man' McClaren.
